Day 25 - Aix en Provence

What a loverly day we had today!

First we had a sleep in.... Ahhhhhh.... No, actually, first we were woken up by Olivia squealing because the Easter Bunny visited us! This was at 6:30am mind you, so of course Nic jumped out of bed and they collected all the little eggs all around the place that was left for us and then did another squeal when they went back into the bedroom because they found a white chocolate lamb left for each of them. Once they had a breakfast of chocolate, we went back to bed and finished our sleep in and got up at 10am.

Easter Bunny did find them in France

Why not a bunny, you would think that we were in NZ .
A shot of our great apartment

There was no rush to get the day started because being Easter Sunday, nothing was going to be opened.... Or so we thought!
Lee Lee's heaven, a market that stretches on for miles
Breakfast first then back to the market, great brecky

First purchase 2 shops in , some stationary for the kids.

On the hunt for more treasures
The kids loved watching this lady engrave stuff
We walked up to the main street to get our brunch and voilla! There was a Street market on! Market umbrellas for as far as the eye could see! Woo Hoo! Spew I left my Longchamps bag back at the apartment, I wasn't expecting to need a shopping tote today... Oh the small pleasures in life....

The market was lovely, showcasing local specialties, soaps, lavender, linen, fresh produce, bags, jewelry, art - everything. And we bought something from almost every category! It was a very nice way to spend a mild sunny spring day in Aix.

Of course in true Lee Lee fashion, you will see some of my purchases as I aquire them. See, I do wardrobe changes for you, just to keep it interesting....

Later in the afternoon we took the quaint little scenic tour train around Aix which showed us all the main points of interest including Cezanne's home and school as a boy and all the main monuments. Of course, we've been in a church everyday since leaving home, so today being Easter, we actually sought the cathedral out. Once again it was lovely. We sat for a while, just enjoying the tranquility and the beautiful music being piped through the speakers.
Love these churches

Beautiful day

The Museum of natural history that has real Dinosaur eggs
The kids have spent far to much time in France now they are setting up the photographic shots  , you would think they were posing for Vogue

Afternoon tea French style

Once again, we selected some fresh produce to have an early and light dinner back at the apartment. There's only so many cooked meals you can eat in your lifetime and I'm pretty sure we've got credited in the bank. Can't wait to get home and shed some of these kg's that I'm collecting along my way....
