Day 10 - Murano Isalnd - MSC Cruise departure

When we were checking out of Palazzo Bembo (yes, good pick Terry) we were offered a free transfer to Murano Island with a display and tour of a glass blowing factory. We jumped at the chance and were AMAZED at the skill of the 'maestro' that made a drinking cup within minutes using the blowing technique and then made a horse with the pulling technique in under a minute.

We then wandered around the island for a bit while the kids went CRAZY buying every little cacarezzi they could put their hands on. The stark contrast between Nic : "I'll have this Penguin and Snail" (for 21Euro) before we had the chance to tell him they were a bit pricey; to Liv: "I really want this pig but I don't want to pay 5Euro for it".... argh. On our way back to Palazzo Bembo to pick up our bags we walked through 'Calle de Miracole' and I was hoping a miracle may be bestowed upon my son whereby he could learn the value of money...

We are now the proud owners of a Snail, a Penguin, a Scorpion, a Pig, an Octopus and before we leave our collection will also include a turtle and a frog. I bet you're all dying to see or display cabinet when we get home...

MSC

Liv and Nic very excited to see the ship i don't think they realised how big it was

Our Balcony

A great way to leave Venice sail straight down the Grand Canal

SanMarco Piazza from the ship

Can I just tell you, no You Tube footage or website photos can prepare you for the sheer monstrosity of this vessel. It is HUGE! We're still trying to figure out our bearings because we've only been on for 6 hours (as I write this blog) and in that time we have managed to orientate ourselves with our particular floor (Level 14) cop a few pairs of knockers in our face by the poolside (Ben literally was offered a first class perve on a lady adjusting her bikini top right in front of the door we entered the deck from) -BTW it was only 24 degrees and there were tanned bodies all over the place, sunbeds full and swimming pool jumping! We had dinner  (Coles Cafeteria Food) and joined the kids up to the kids club.

I think I'm going to have to knock back the Avomine or the Kwells because although the ocean is calm, the vibration and ever so slight sway is going to get to me.
